The Community Mural Project, a multi-stakeholder effort, will hold an official groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, April 24th at 9:30 AM, to coincide with “Celebrate Trails Day.” The project is developing a multi-mural display with a mini-park to welcome trail users arriving from the east along Roberts Pass, a section of the Great American Rail-Trail. Seventeen murals panels along the MATCO Services Building will graphically tell the history of our local community.

We’ll be keeping attendance low due to the pandemic, but plan to record the event and broadcast it in conjunction with Celebrate Trails Day.

Celebrate Trails Day (formerly Opening Day for Trails) is an annual spring celebration of America’s trails hosted on the third Saturday of April. Started by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy in 2013, the celebration encourages people all across the country to get outside and enjoy the nation’s exceptional trails and trail systems.
