Jack McDowell’s Annual Prairie Grass Trail Ride

RECOMMENDED: HELMETS, WATER… AND AN INQUISITIVE MIND!

The Madison Soil & Water Conservation District will be heading the event.
The segment of the Ohio-Erie Trail known as the “Prairie Grass Trail,” begins at the trailhead in London and extends southwest through South Charleston to Cedarville. Bicyclists can enjoy the beauty of plants such as Prairie Dock, Butterfly Weed, Royal Catchfly, and Prairie Coneflower; and tall grasses, such as Big Bluestem and Indiangrass. Your tour begins at the rain garden at the Prairie Grass Trailhead in London, OH. Learn about prairie ecology and some of the plants to be found along the trail. This educational ride, 11 miles out and back, is held in honor of Jack McDowell, prairie enthusiast.
