Jack McDowell’s Annual Prairie Grass Trail Ride

RECOMMENDED: HELMETS, WATER… AND AN INQUISITIVE MIND

New in 2019, the ride will be led by Dave Nolin, retired Dayton Five Rivers MetroPark Conservation Director and recipient of the Jack Hanna Resource Conservation Award.
Bicyclists can enjoy the beauty of plants such as Prairie Dock (pictured), Butterfly Weed, Royal Catchfly, and Prairie Coneflower; and tall grasses like Big Bluestem and Indiangrass. Our ride will be led at a leisurely pace on a 5 ½-mile portion of the “Prairie Grass Trail” (PGT) which starts at the trailhead in London, OH. Riders who wish to continue after we dismiss may continue on the PGT which extends southwest through South Charleston to Cedarville as a segment of the Ohio-Erie Trail. Leaders will share on various topics and take questions.
